Navigating the Customs Process for International Orders

When ordering products from overseas, please be aware that your shipment may be subject to import duties, customs clearance fees, taxes (including VAT/GST where applicable), brokerage fees, storage charges, or other government-imposed charges assessed by the customs authorities or shipping carrier in your destination country.

These charges are not included in your order total and are the sole responsibility of the customer (consignee).

Customs Regulations

Customs regulations and import policies vary by country. As a result, we are unable to estimate or collect these charges in advance.

For the most accurate information regarding import duties, taxes, prohibited items, and customs requirements, we recommend contacting your local customs office or visiting your government’s official customs website before placing an order.

You can also visit your country’s customs information here: Click here!

Please note that customs regulations and import requirements are subject to change without prior notice.

Customs Delays

International shipments may occasionally be delayed due to customs inspections or clearance procedures.

Unfortunately, these delays are outside the control of YOYOJAPAN and the shipping carrier. We appreciate your patience should additional processing time be required by your local customs authorities.

Refused or Returned Shipments

If a shipment is refused, abandoned, or returned to us due to any of the following reasons:

  • Unpaid import duties or taxes
  • Failure to complete customs clearance
  • Refusal to accept the shipment
  • Incorrect or incomplete delivery information provided by the customer
  • Failure to respond to requests from customs or the shipping carrier

any refund request will be processed only after the returned package has been successfully received back at our warehouse.

The following costs will be deducted from the refund amount:

  • Original outbound shipping charges.
  • Return shipping charges from the destination country back to Japan.
  • Any carrier handling fees associated with the return shipment.
  • Any re-import duties, customs taxes, inspection fees, or other charges imposed by Japanese Customs or the shipping carrier when the returned package re-enters Japan.

Please note that re-import taxes and customs charges are determined solely by Japanese Customs and/or the carrier at the time of re-entry into Japan and cannot be estimated or waived by YOYOJAPAN.

Customer Responsibility

By placing an order with YOYOJAPAN, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are responsible for complying with your country’s import laws and regulations.

  • YOYOJAPAN is not responsible for delays, customs holds, import restrictions, confiscation, destruction, or additional charges imposed by customs authorities or shipping carriers in the destination country.
  • If a shipment is returned due to customs-related reasons, the refund will be processed according to our Return & Refund Policy, after deducting the applicable outbound shipping, return shipping, and any re-import duties and fees incurred.
