Smiski – Glow-in-the-Dark Blind Box Figures from Japan

Smiski is a line of blind box figures created by Toru Soeya, CEO of Japanese toy manufacturer Dreams Inc. Each figure glows in the dark and depicts a small, quiet moment from everyday life — working, exercising, commuting, hiding in a corner — designed to “mimic people’s daily lives” in miniature form.

Smiski are sold in blind boxes, meaning you won’t know which pose you’ve gotten until you open it. Most main lineups follow the same structure: six standard designs plus one rare, secret variant. Since the brand launched, Dreams Inc. has released 18 main Smiski series, spanning numbered core sets, everyday-life themes, and dedicated accessory lines.

Numbered Core Series

The Numbered Core Series is where Smiski started. Series 1 introduced the original body types — Normal, Slim, and Chubby — along with foundational poses like kneeling, hiding, and peeking. Series 2 became one of the most popular releases, featuring Kneeling, Climbing, Daydreaming, Pushing, and Peeking-upside-down poses (re-released as a core standard product in October 2026). Series 3 and Series 4 continued the theme with more exploratory poses tucked into odd corners.

Home & Everyday Life Series

This group brings Smiski into the corners of daily life at home. The Toilet Series features figures like Smiski Helping Out (handing over tiny toilet paper) and Smiski Holding In, while the Bath Series adds playful bath-time moments such as Smiski With Duck and Smiski Dazed. The Living Series hides Smiski near couches and TV stands, and the Bed Series offers sleepy, bedtime-ready poses that suit a nightstand.

Hobby, Work & Activity Series

This is the largest and most varied group. The @ Work Series covers office life, from a Smiski researching at a computer to a nervous one presenting or rushing to work. The Yoga Series shows Smiski attempting classic yoga poses, while the Cheer Series roots for you with pom-poms, megaphones, and marching drums. The Museum Series recreates famous artworks and classical sculptures in miniature, the Dressing Series captures the everyday struggle of getting dressed, and the Exercising Series shows Smiski working out with tiny weights and running gear. The Moving Series depicts Smiski packing boxes and carrying furniture, and the Construction Series (released June 2026) adds little workers digging, crushing rocks, and directing traffic.

Special Theme & Practical Series

Beyond the core lineups, Smiski also offers themed and functional releases. The Sunday Series captures the relaxed, slightly melancholic feeling of a Sunday afternoon, while HIPPERS are adhesive figures designed to stick onto the edge of a phone, laptop, or monitor. The Birthday Series brings a party mood with cake, confetti, and present-wrapped poses, and the SMISKI Accessories/Gashapon line offers mini capsule straps released for the brand’s 10th anniversary, made to attach to pouches or keys.
